Translation Industry News on your website
Babelport.com has released Babelport News Feed Beta, a tool for users
and visitors that allows to integrate babelport.com news into third-party
websites easily. Up to 40 of the most recent news published on babelport.com
can be included at once. Appearance, sizes, style, and length of the preview
texts are customisable. See examples here.
You may chose or combine news from the following categories
- Translation Industry News (TIN)
- Computer Aided Translation software (CAT) News
- PC-Security-related news (SEC)
- Miscellaneous (MSC)
- Babelport.com announcements (BP)
Integration is easy and requires only little or no programming skills.
You can define the number of entries, indicate a character set (UTF-8
or ISO-8859-1), and specify color, font, and size. It is possible to include
the News Feed into your content directly via server side scripting, or
to view the news as frame or iframe. Babelport News Feed Beta will produce
a full HTML 4.01 document or only valid html-code that includes the table
structure and CSS without the unnecessary <head> and <body>
tags.

By default the news feed will adapt to width of the parent element in
your page and produce a complete html document for integration into frames.
It will show the headline, a preview of the text of not more than 512
characters, and a link to the article on babelport.com.
If you wish to include the news feed as iframe simply copy and paste the
following code. (You may need to adjust the height attribute of the iframe
tag.)
| <iframe src="http://nfeed.babelport.com/remotenews.php"
height="400" frameborder="0" hspace="5"
vspace="5"></iframe> |
If you wish to include the news feed directly, it is required to have
server-side scripting enabled. The following code works if you have php
installed and produces a table element.
| <?php include "http://nfeed.babelport.com/remotenews.php?type=table";?> |
