According to a security advisory released by Adobe Inc., the company has discovered a buffer overflow in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader, widely used application for PDF- generation and viewing. According to the release the issue has been addressed and a product update is available. If the vulnerability is successfully exploited, the application could crash and cause an increased risk of arbitrary code execution.

Adobe Reader runs on most computers at least as a plug-in to web-browsers like Mozilla or Internet Explorer. Since PDF has become a common file exchange format, it is recommended to immediately update to software.

An update for Adobe products is available at www.adobe.com/support/downloads .
