The Mozilla Foundation has released Version 1.0.6 of its Firefox open-source Web browser and Thunderbird email-client, as well as Version 1.7.10 of its Websuite Mozilla. The new version was released only eight days after version 1.0.5 due to unintended internal changes made to previous release, which made it almost impossible to localise the software. Localized Version are available already. The new version also restores compatibility with a number of extensions. The new version includes the 1.0.5 patches that fix twelve vulnerabilities.

Mozilla plans to release Firefox 1.1 in August or September. That version will allow users to download the fixes through an integrated system update that issues small-sized upgrade files. Firefox 1.1 also includes a feature that caches previously visited pages in the memory to allow faster displays when users click back and forward navigation buttons.
