On Tuesday Microsoft Corp. is going to release three security patches for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office as part of their monthly security update campaign. 'Patch Day', as the monthly security bulletin release cycle is commonly called, is July 12th. This week already Microsoft has released a patch that shall fix a bug in Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, the built-in JAVA-environment to run, JAVA-Applets in Internet Explorer. Heise.de, however, criticizes that Microsoft didn't fix the problem but only partially deactivated services in the registry. According to the German IT-Publisher, this can lead to problems executing Java applets, and furthermore does not necessarily close the security hole. Microsoft currently does not link to this this problem on any relevant security website and does not include the Patch in the automatic updates.
