Microsoft released a patch for Windows Explorer on Tue, May, 10th. As part their monthly security update campaign the software vendor this time only provided one patch. The patch shall fix a security flaw in the internal file browser Windows Explorer.

Already in March it was reported that potential attackers can make use of the preview function of Windows Explorer to execute malicious code. The problem is related to Windows 2000, Windows 98 and Windows ME. The patch is available however only for Windows 2000, since Microsoft discontinued support for older Versions of the Windows OS.
