In a newsletter SDL informed us about an upcoming free webinar on Terminology Extraction presented by Angelika Zerfaß.

The free one-hour webinar will cover topics such as

• Complications and difficulties associated with terminology extraction?
• Comparison of different extraction strategy: manual, concordance, statistical, linguistics.

• Comparison between two extraction methods applied to the same document.

About the presenter

Angelika holds a degree in translation from the Department of Oriental Languages at the University of Bonn - Germany, in Chinese and Japanese Language and Computational Linguistics and she did her thesis on machine translation in China. In her career she has worked for the Japanese Embassy in Bonn in the Defence and Police Department as well as for TRADOS as a Support Specialist. For the last five years she has been working as a freelance consultant and trainer for translation tools and translation related processes.

The webinar will be delivered in English over the Internet and Phone. More detailed information will follow prior to the event.
