The independent research and consulting firm Common Sense Advisory have published their predictions for the translation market in 2007. According to Global Watchtower(TM), the company's webblog, the software market, especially the leading tools vendor SDL, can expect a growing challenge from smaller firms including across, Alchemy, MultiCorpora and Lingotek. The consultants also expect more investment into LSPs, a growing interest in China, and more challenge coming from India, with some 500.000 language jobs to be created in the coming years. Also, Common Sense Advisory expects to see the role of vendor/LSP management growing. In particular, CSA sees the "rudimentary databases of professionals benefit from initiatives like the Translator Profile Exchange (TPX) that will allow LSPs to receive automatic updates on translator profiles and also check how other LSPs have rated them."
