Online Licensing and Permitting Services Now Available for Interpreters and Transliterators at www.Alabama.gov

Alabama's interpreters and transliterators know the importance of good communication. The Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators has taken advantage of one of the world's best forms of communication, the Internet, with the release of its new online application and renewal service. Individuals applying for or renewing permits and licenses may now do so at the state's official Web site at www.alabama.gov.

The new system allows interpreters and transliterators to renew their licenses or permits by logging into the system with their current license or permit number. First-time license or permit applicants can also use the online service by providing a Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) membership number. All information is sent securely once payments have been received via electronic check or credit card.

"The Board is very excited to have the ability to offer such innovative services and conveniences to our interpreters and transliterators," said Belinda Montgomery, Chairwoman of the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators. "This is one more example of how the use of technology will create efficiencies for our constituents and staff."

The online license and permit services were created through a partnership with the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators and Alabama Interactive, the state's official partner for online government services.
