Idiom Expands WorldServer LSP Advantage Program; Introduces New WorldServer Desktop Workbench for Translators

First, many of the companies that joined the Idiom WorldServer LSP Advantage Program(TM) during its pilot phase have moved into production and are now ready to offer language services powered by Idiom WorldServer(TM). Second, Idiom is introducing its WorldServer(TM) Desktop Workbench, a new Microsoft Windows-based Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tool that will be licensed free-of-charge to translators who work for Idiom customers or partners.

Idiom Moves LSP Advantage Program Out of Beta, Launches LSP QuickStart Kit

Today, LSPs are facing increasing competitive pressure that requires investments in technology platforms to help streamline and automate current translation and localization processes. The Idiom WorldServer LSP Advantage Program was launched to meet that competitive need, while seizing a market opportunity created by consolidation in the translation software and services industry.

Since announcing beta members in September, the program has doubled in size with 24 members and is still growing. With the successful conclusion of its pilot phase, Idiom is formally launching the LSP Advantage Program as a cornerstone of the company's expanded focus. Members of the LSP Advantage Program can leverage powerful WorldServer features including centralized translation memory, business process automation, advanced scoping and reporting functionality, and flexible Software Development Kit (SDK) at no charge. As members, LSPs also become valuable partners for Idiom by potentially reselling or hosting WorldServer software or by becoming a channel to help spur additional enterprise sales. Because Idiom is purely focused on software, not translation services, Idiom and its partners both stand to benefit from the program.

The LSP QuickStart Kit includes a number of out-of-the-box WorldServer components, such as workflow and SDK examples, which represent common LSP use-cases. Each may be easily modified by the LSP to suit its specific needs.

New WorldServer Desktop Workbench for Translators

Based on the momentum established with the launch of its LSP Advantage Program, Idiom is keenly aware of the importance of expanding its reach in the globalization supply chain to the translator's desktop. Translators traditionally use PC-based CAT tools that work entirely independent of the server-based globalization systems used by global enterprises or LSPs. The WorldServer Desktop Workbench is a Windows-based CAT solution that is designed specifically to leverage the centralized translation memory, workflow and other WorldServer features.
