Idiom Expands WorldServer LSP Advantage Program; Introduces New WorldServer Desktop Workbench for Translators Aggressive Strategies Further Align Idiom With the Business Needs of Language Service Providers and Individual Translators to Optimize the Globalization Supply Chain Waltham, Massachusetts, USA -- December 19, 2005 -- Idiom(R) Technologies, Inc. (Idiom), the leading independent provider of scalable software solutions for accelerating and optimizing globalization initiatives, today announced important steps in its long-term plan to align with the competitive business needs of language service providers (LSPs) and translators. First, many of the companies that joined the Idiom WorldServer LSP Advantage Program(TM) during its pilot phase have moved into production and are now ready to offer language services powered by Idiom WorldServer(TM). Second, Idiom is introducing its WorldServer(TM) Desktop Workbench, a new Microsoft Windows-based Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tool that will be licensed free-of-charge to translators who work for Idiom customers or partners. "Increasing emphasis on new global business strategies and shifts in the competitive landscape have created an opportunity for Idiom to launch new programs that benefit LSPs, translators and midmarket enterprises," said Mike Iacobucci, president and CEO, Idiom Technologies, Inc. "While we gain momentum in these new markets, everything we do revolves around being a company that is easy to do business with and 100 percent focused on adding value to our customers and partners. Today's announcements mark a significant milestone toward cementing our relationships with key members of the globalization supply chain." Idiom Moves LSP Advantage Program Out of Beta, Launches LSP QuickStart Kit Today, LSPs are facing increasing competitive pressure that requires investments in technology platforms to help streamline and automate current translation and localization processes. The Idiom WorldServer LSP Advantage Program was launched to meet that competitive need, while seizing a market opportunity created by consolidation in the translation software and services industry. Since announcing beta members in September, the program has doubled in size with 24 members and is still growing. With the successful conclusion of its pilot phase, Idiom is formally launching the LSP Advantage Program as a cornerstone of the company's expanded focus. Beta members now offering WorldServer-based services include: COMSYS, Echo International, The Geo Group, iSP (International Software Products), Localize Technologies, LUZ, Inc., New Market Translations, OmniLingua, One Planet Corporation, Wessex Translations Limited, WH&P and 1-800-Translate. Members of the LSP Advantage Program can leverage powerful WorldServer features including centralized translation memory, business process automation, advanced scoping and reporting functionality, and flexible Software Development Kit (SDK) at no charge. As members, LSPs also become valuable partners for Idiom by potentially reselling or hosting WorldServer software or by becoming a channel to help spur additional enterprise sales. Because Idiom is purely focused on software, not translation services, Idiom and its partners both stand to benefit from the program. "We have been very impressed with the functionality of WorldServer and view our adoption of this technology as a competitive differentiator and source of new revenue streams for our company," said Günther Höser, managing director, WH&P and LSP Advantage Program Member. "We have quickly moved up the learning curve with WorldServer and have easily integrated it into our existing infrastructure. Idiom has a vested interest in our success, and it shows. The company's member support team is committed to enabling open communication and is responsive to feedback and suggestions." As part of the LSP Advantage Program launch, Idiom has developed the LSP QuickStart Kit. Instead of having to invest their own resources to build and deploy a software platform from scratch, the QuickStart Kit helps LSPs get up and running rapidly on WorldServer. The LSP QuickStart Kit includes a number of out-of-the-box WorldServer components, such as workflow and SDK examples, which represent common LSP use-cases. Each may be easily modified by the LSP to suit its specific needs. New WorldServer Desktop Workbench for Translators Based on the momentum established with the launch of its LSP Advantage Program, Idiom is keenly aware of the importance of expanding its reach in the globalization supply chain to the translator's desktop. Translators traditionally use PC-based CAT tools that work entirely independent of the server-based globalization systems used by global enterprises or LSPs. The WorldServer Desktop Workbench is a Windows-based CAT solution that is designed specifically to leverage the centralized translation memory, workflow and other WorldServer features. "Computer Aided Translation tools have become a commodity in our industry. By granting our customers and partners a license to freely distribute WorldServer Desktop Workbench, we are empowering the entire globalization supply chain with the proven features and capabilities of WorldServer," said Dave Rosenlund, vice president marketing and new business development, Idiom Technologies. "Our primary goal is to help our customers and their translation partners be successful." Idiom will grant global enterprise customers and LSP partners a license to freely distribute the WorldServer Desktop Workbench to translators who work with them on WorldServer-based projects. With this move, Idiom furthers its ties with the translation community by providing powerful globalization software that enables the cost-effective delivery of high-quality translated and localized content to their customers. Idiom will continue to offer browser-based CAT solutions that do not require software to be installed on the translator's desktop. "With the combination of the free Desktop Workbench and its LSP Advantage Program, Idiom is truly impacting change in the localization industry," said Gary Prioste, president and CEO, Localize Technologies and LSP Advantage Program Member. "With Idiom, we have gained an ally. Idiom is nimble and responsive. They understand the demands of our business, listen to our needs and are committed to our success." About Idiom Technologies, Inc.
