Faced with the latest marketing efforts from its competitors (SDL, across, SkyCat) Swiss language service provider and computer-assisted translation (CAT) software vendor STAR now offer their own special deals for users switching to STAR Transit XV. In a very short press release, STAR announced the offering of free translation memory (TM) conversion for usage with TRANSIT.

With the slogan "Umsteigen lohnt sich, wir kümmern uns um Ihr Gepäck" (Switching to TRANSIT is worth the effort, we take care of your luggage) STAR offers a free TM conversion service for users who switch to TRANSIT from competing products. Considering the offers made by across (1000 free licenses), SDL (25 % off TRADOS and SDLX), or the recently announced SkyCAT (free license version for freelancers), STAR's deal seems a bit meager
