How to get listed correctly in the babelport.com directories

Recent inquiries about the listings in the directories and corresponding search results make a further explanation of the profile information and directory listing necessary.

When you register as a member of the babelport.com portal some basic information about yourself and your services. This information is used to insert you into our directories of freelancers or agencies. The information you provide during the registration is however does not suffice yet for a complete profile. When visitors search for freelancers or agencies they will often submit more restriction than the simple language combination.

In order to get listed in the results of searches, it is necessary and helpful to provide more information about your services to profile than only your résumé. You can add information like further language pairs and field of specialisations in the My Babelport section. Here you will find a link to your personal settings.

Clicking your way through My Babelport > My Settings allows you to upload a photo of yourself or a logo of your company which will be viewed in your profile and in the right-column promotion boxes Specialist of the Day and Agency in the Spotlight (Premium members only). Furthermore, you may want to add your expertise in the My Specialisation form. Adding this information helps to get listed in search results which were limited to specific fields of expertise.

Although currently not yet implemented, it will soon be possible to limit the search results to users who work with specific software. Hence it is recommended to make sure that the My Software section is correctly filled out, too, otherwise members not providing information about used software will be excluded from the search results.

Always remember, babelport.com wants to bring transparency to the community and to the translation industry, therefore make sure that you provide as much information as possible and make sure that this information is correct.

We will also soon begin to check the validity of contact information provided by our users so make sure to keep you address and personal information up-to-date. Not providing valid information is a violation of the terms and conditions of babelport.com and we will drop members violating our rules from the directories and may also delete them completely from our databases if they do not provide the requested information within a given period of time.
