AP and XP - our Rating System

In order to build a supportive and informative community at babelport.com those members who actively contribute to the site are awarded with points that give other users information about their level of activity and experience.

Members of babelport.com are listed in the directories according to their language combinations, specializations etc. Other members can search the freelancer and outsourcer directories by defining search criteria such as language combinations, residence, expertise and other keywords. To be able to list the results of such a search in a logical and fair order we have implemented a ranking system that places those members who actively contribute to the site higher than others.

Members can gain two different kinds of points: AP (Activity Points) and XP (Experience Points). Activity points are awarded whenever a member participates in babelport.com, i.e. by rating an article or an agency, by answering or rating TransHelper Questions or entering a new Online Dictionary.

Experience Points can be gained by rating glossary entries, articles, freelancers or agencies and when the asker accepts one's TransHelper answer.

It is planned, but currently not implemented yet, that you will be awarded for linking to babelport.com from your own website. Whenever a new user registers at babelport.com who accessed the site through a link on  your own homepage you will then get 10 activity points.
